As Sustainable Silicon Valley's Acting Executive Director, I'm pleased to announce on behalf of the entire Board the appointment of Jennifer Thompson as SSV's new Executive Director starting February 1st, 2016.
Currently the Associate Director, Jennifer came to SSV with 20 years of nonprofit experience building cross-sector partnerships, including serving as the Executive Producer of Green21. For this initiative, Jennifer formed partnerships with the major cornerstones of public media, educational programs, nonprofits, and civic engagement, and participated in the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) America. Previously, Jennifer was an Executive Producer for the David & Lucile Packard Foundation's Fellowships Program for Science and Engineering.
Jennifer has worked closely with SSV's outgoing Executive Director, Marianna Grossman, who skillfully led the organization for over six years. Marianna's passion and commitment to bringing attention to the most important sustainability issues in our region inspired many people in Silicon Valley, and beyond. All of us here at SSV wish Marianna tremendous success in her future endeavors.
"The SSV Board is excited about our new focus on the Net Positive Bay Area projects, including the Intelligent Water REuse Initiative and Net Positive East Palo Alto", says Andrew Clark, SSV Board Chair. "This spring, we hope you will join us for SSV's 2nd Annual Water Symposium."
We look forward to continuing to work together to achieve SSV's audacious goal of creating a Net Positive Bay Area by 2050.
