Sustainable Silicon Valley hosted member company Acqualogic for a presentation on existing technologies for distributed water systems and to discuss the hurdles to large-scale deployment. Participants from Water Career Pathways, Intrinsyx, Acqualogic and SSV discussed their views about onsite water reuse, including the need for qualified operation and maintenance technicians, real-time monitoring, and policy reform.
Mr. Peter Haase, the CEO of Acqualogic, highlighted challenges and opportunities in the industry, including information on the return of investment for distributed systems in California. Mr. Haase also presented case studies on its Advanced Biological Treatment System and Flora Filters for Advanced Nutrient Removal. He also discussed the challenges involved in permitting onsite systems.
Water Career Pathways discussed workforce development for the future water industry and their upcoming Water Challenge for high school students.
